Coordinator – Environment Education
WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organisations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature, for the position of Coordinator – Environment Education. We believe that environmental education is a lifelong process to seek relevant solutions to environmental and social issues, and we strive to strengthen individual and institutional capacity for nature conservation and environmental protection, by promoting education and awareness within the social structure.
This is a senior role in which the incumbent will work closely with the Director of the Environment Education programme in implementing and upscaling the environment education and outreach activities. She/he will be expected to take on leadership role in specific areas, on both technical and administrative tasks.
The Job Profile:
Develop proposals and secure funding for EE projects which will aim at empowering children and youth in both urban and rural geographies.
Take charge of the EE web space and transform it into an interactive learning space, ensure renewal of content on a monthly basis Provide administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings and conferences.
Organize environment awareness workshops for teachers and students.
Build a communication strategy for the EE division.
Oversee overall finances, budgeting and financial reporting of various projects under the EE Programme.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
A Masters degree in Environmental Sciences/ Social Sciences/Development Studies/related disciplines.
Proven experience of at least ten years in environmental education/awareness-raising/advocacy/networking and project/programme management/content development.
Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills, particularly in English.
Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches to Environmental Education (EE) and/or Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) shall be preferred.
