3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
PI’s current Country Strategic Program (CSP lll) covering 2012-2015, focuses on seven thematic areas (viz. Education and Early Childhood Education, Health, Child Protection, Water & Sanitation, Household Economic Security, Child Participation and Disaster Risk Reduction), to promote children’s rights. A key strategy for CSP lll, is to leverage additional resources for children’s programs by mobilizing grants from the Government, Corporate Sector, Plan National Offices and other Funding Institutions, with a view to scaling-up and covering as many as children as possible. Reporting to the Executive Director, the SA-ER shall provide high level support to manage strategic aspects of PI’s profile with government ministries, departments and PSUs to increase it’s resource base, apart from providing technical and specialized resource mobilization support. The SA-ER shall additionally be responsible for building linkages and relationships with government/ PSU’s, to enhance the organization’s visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Supporting and guiding PI’s acquisition team in strategizing partnerships with PSU’s/ government ministries/ departments;
(2) Supporting PI in building linkages and relationships with PSU’s/ government ministries/ departments/ civil society organizations, at the national and state levels;
(3) Following-up on potential partnership opportunities in collaboration with program teams at PI country / state offices;
(4) Guiding PI in representing the organization at different policy making forums of the government, relating to child rights;
(5) Supporting PI’s program team in the development of proposals to bid for government and PSU grants;
(6) Ensuring the full application of Pl’s Child Protection Policy in all aspects of grant work.
4. EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Experience:
(1) At least 25 to 30 years of demonstrable experience in the development field, preferably in government/ PSU/ civil services;
(2) Sound understanding of program management, including the development and maturing of grant proposals;
(3) Hands-on expertise in large grant proposal writing and reporting;
(4) Strong credibility and contacts in the government and/ or PSU’s, particularly in ministries and organizations related to PI’s areas of operations;
(5) Demonstrable experience in networking and relationship-building skills in government and/or the development field.
Skills:
(1) Excellent oral and written communication skills;
(2) Strong networking and negotiation skills, preferably within the government system;
(3) Strong interpersonal skills;
(4) Ability and willingness to undertake travel within India, upto 25% of the time.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross annual remuneration budgeted for the position is attractive. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.
6. CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT:
The successful candidate shall be offered a one year contract, renewable annually, subject to satisfactory performance.
7. LOCATION:
The position will be based at PI’s Country Office at New Delhi.
